Meaningful Occupation
St Mungo's putting down roots project
This page is about meaningful occupation and activities - giving homeless people something positive to do with the aim of building their self esteem, developing their skills and building social networks away from the streets.

What's New?
- Homeless Link has been commissioned by Communities and Local Government (CLG) to support and administer a £450,000 grants scheme to help services working with homeless people provide positive activities. The Activating Places of Change grants are only available to services that have received funding under the CLG's Hostels Capital Improvement Programme (HCIP).
- The HAYH (Housing Action Yorkshire and Humberside) website has details of a regional network of activities workers
Sport
Many agencies working with homeless people are finding that sports activities are a good way to engage people and can lead to employment opportunities. See our pages on Sport.
